What is XtraDrivers?

XtraDrivers is a driver-sharing platform built exclusively for FedEx ISPs. It allows ISPs to share drivers between each other, so they can find coverage when they are short and monetize drivers when they are available. The platform also securely processes payments between ISPs for each confirmed driver day.

Who can use XtraDrivers?

The platform is designed only for FedEx ISPs. Each company is verified as an ISP before being able to share or request drivers.

Is this a staffing agency or a replacement for my own HR?

No. XtraDrivers is not a staffing agency and does not employ drivers. It is a collaboration and payment tool between ISPs that already employ their own drivers. You keep full control over your drivers, payroll, and HR processes; we simply connect ISPs, coordinate availability, and process payments between them.

Pricing & Fees

How much does it cost to use the platform?

There is no monthly subscription. The platform is free to use. You only pay a small platform fee per confirmed driver day when a driver share is successfully completed between ISPs.

Do I pay anything if I just browse or mark driver availability?

No. You can create your account, add drivers, mark availability, and review available drivers from other ISPs without any cost. Platform fees only apply when a driver share is confirmed and completed.

Drivers & Availability

Do I have to add all my drivers to XtraDrivers?

You can add as many drivers as you want, but you decide which ones are available to be shared by marking their availability on the calendar. Only drivers with availability will show up as available to other ISPs.

Who controls a driver’s schedule on the platform?

The owning ISP always controls the driver’s availability. You can update availability at any time — even at the last minute — so that the platform reflects the real status of your operation.

Can the same driver work for different ISPs?

A driver can work for another ISP only during the dates that the owning ISP has marked as available and that have been approved through a request on XtraDrivers. All operational and employment agreements remain between ISPs; XtraDrivers only facilitates scheduling and payments between them.

Requests & Approvals

How do I request a driver from another ISP?

From the “Find Drivers” screen, you can filter by date and see which drivers are available. When you find a driver that fits your needs, you send a request specifying the date or dates needed. The owning ISP can then approve, modify, or decline the request.

What happens after a request is approved?

Once a request is approved, both ISPs see the confirmation in their dashboards. The driver is considered reserved for those dates, and the requesting ISP will be billed through XtraDrivers for each confirmed driver day based on the agreed daily rate. You then proceed with your normal operational and onboarding steps as agreed between the ISPs.

Can I cancel a request after it’s approved?

Cancellation policies are defined between ISPs. XtraDrivers does not enforce a specific cancellation policy, but the platform will allow you to track status changes so both sides can stay aligned. Any financial adjustments related to cancellations are handled according to the agreements between ISPs.

Payments & Responsibility

Who pays the shared driver and how are payments handled?

When a driver share is confirmed, the requesting ISP pays through XtraDrivers for each scheduled driver day at the agreed daily rate. The platform securely processes the payment, deducts the platform fee, and automatically pays out the ISP that is providing the driver.

The owning ISP remains fully responsible for compensating their driver via their normal payroll or contractor process. XtraDrivers never becomes the employer of the driver and does not run payroll on behalf of any ISP.

Who is responsible for compliance, training, and performance?

Each ISP remains responsible for ensuring that any driver they use meets FedEx requirements and any legal or contractual obligations. XtraDrivers is a coordination and payment platform between ISPs and does not assume operational, compliance, or employment responsibilities.

Data & Security

What driver information is visible to other ISPs?

Only essential details are displayed: name, availability, daily cost, and company name. Sensitive identifiers such as FedEx IDs can be restricted or only shown after a request is approved, depending on your configuration.

How is my company and driver data protected?

We follow industry best practices for secure data handling. Data is used only to operate the platform and is never sold to third parties. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.
